The Mission

The Mission
Over a thousand years ago, Baghdad's Bayt al-Hikmah gathered scholars from every civilization to translate, question, and build on each other's ideas. It became the mind of the Islamic Golden Age, not because it taught answers, but because it protected the habit of asking.
We're rebuilding that same spirit here, for a different generation. Every exhibit, experiment activity, and conversation at House of Wisdom exists to do one thing: put a child's curiosity in the driver's seat, the way it was in Baghdad's original House of Wisdom, long before "education" came to mean sitting still and memorizing.
Over a thousand years ago, Baghdad's Bayt al-Hikmah brought scholars together from every corner of the known world. They translated, they argued, they preserved knowledge that would have otherwise disappeared. It wasn't really a building. It was a belief that curiosity matters, and that what a civilization reads says something about its soul.
House of Wisdom's library carries that same spirit. The shelves move from Patras Bukhari's timeless Urdu writing to business books, spirituality, and Pakistan Studies, including titles you genuinely can't find anywhere else in the country. There's a children's corner too, full of picture books, world records, and stories with real lessons in them.
✨ Come sit for a few hours instead of another café afternoon. This is where Islamabad falls back in love with books, the same way Baghdad did, centuries ago.

Timeless literature, poetry, and philosophical works from master Urdu authors.

Deep dives into the historical, cultural, and political heritage of the region.

Engaging stories, vibrant magazines, and educational fun to inspire young minds.
Testimonials
"I have visited many educational institutes, but this is the first time having such a unique experience. I recommend people from public sector, and the private sector to see and observe how they have setup such a lively and wonderful place that truly reminds us of 'Dar ul Hikmah' from Baghdad."
"House of Wisdom truly lives up to its name as an "Intellectual Playground." It is an excellent choice for families looking for a place where children can grow academically, socially, and creatively. Highly recommended!"
"Here Science is connected with Islam and the confusion of children is removed. The visual exhibits, toys and the conceptual learning in HOW really stand out for me."
